| SMASHED-IEVERY...!!!
my car was broken into yesterday. the passenger side seat window was smashed into thousands of pieces (thank God for tempered glass). but oddly enough, nothing was stolen from my car.
i didn't feel comfortable parking it in the street overnight so i drove to fort lee to the chung's (thank you X one million mr. and mrs. chung) garage. i ain't gonna lie, it was quite cold going 60 on the westside highway without a window at 1AM. i was semi-afraid that a rogue piece of glass would fly from the door and into my eyeball. could you imagine?! i would definitely then have to fulfill my destiny of becoming a pirate. i think i'd be a good one. i'd just have to learn how to swash 'n buckle.
to make light of the situation - and keep my mind/body from succumbing to anger and frostbite - as i drove, i pretended each piece of smashed glass was a diamond. my booty. but the man in the van with the new window came and vacuumed all my diamonds up earlier this morning. i ain't as (imaginarily) rich no more.
like i mentioned before, nothing from my car was stolen, but my ever so waning faith in the decency of mankind? yes, that has been robbed yet again from me. thank goodness my faith is in Him alone.

jinnie do you love your Jesus? deep down in your heart?
YES I LOVE MY JESUS!!
...deep down in my heart.
this day always reminds me of sueper's xanga entry a couple years back. she posted up a comic strip and someone's explanation of it. i went to her xanga to see if it was still up, but it's gone so i guess my memory of it will just have to suffice. i think i remember it more because minyoung printed out that strip and posted it up on her corkboard. everytime i went over, i read it.
the comic addressed the issue of sacrifice and love. no love without sacrifice. no sacrifice without blood.
the creator of that strip probably had no intention of pointing to the Gospel. but on this day that's filled with pink hearts, chocolates, and flowers, i'm reminded of that comic and the passion of my first Love.
